On February 25, 2020, Resolute Educational Solutions, LLC (Resolute) presented in partnership with the Shaker Heights School District (Shaker) the district data analysis and rationale for the 2020-2025 Strategic Plan to support the District’s Educational Equity Policy and International Baccalaureate (IB) program. The work began in late October 2019 with a late February hard deadline for introduction to the Shaker Board of Education. Resolute completed the draft Strategic Plan and submitted to Shaker for review and preparation for the Board.
Resolute discussed the rationale for data analysis and the customized data tools designed and used to synthesize both qualitative and quantitative methods of data collection. Screenshots of the Integrative Reporting-Productive Analysis and Tracking Host (IR-PATH) were used to illustrate trends and patterns over the past three years. The IR-PATH uses a standardization of school-level data to represent actionable data to positively contribute to the district’s strategic, programmatic, and systematic needs based on multiple data points. The Board asked relevant questions and gained the needed context on the District’s current status. Those data collected were explained in connection to and aligned to the draft Shaker Strategic Plan as a way to aid the Board members understanding of potential areas of need that will shape the development of measurable outcomes for continuous improvement. The result was positive from the Board, community members, and other stakeholders that participated in the focus groups.
The Shaker board adopted this new strategic plan on March 10, 2020. This adoption operationalized the restructuring of district systems, specifically, ensuring the alignment of the District’s IB philosophy and framework and the Educational Equity Policy to ensure all students are successful. Resolute will continue serving as a critical partner to the District working to support and facilitate the develop a quality assurance system that supports the work.
